Interactive Eco-Discovery Maps of Shenzhen

SFIEC and 8 other natural protection NGOs collaborated with Make-a-point to design a set of interactive eco-discovery maps of Shenzhen. This interactive system has both online and offline components. People can take the physical Eco-Discovery Maps for free in parks and tourist centers in Shenzhen, while they can follow the maps to play "treasure hunt" in 5 specific parks using their smartphones. The online component would help park visitors learn more about the ecology of Shenzhen and open their sensations when touring the parks.

Sexuality Education Board Game for Children

After an in-depth field research in the rural areas, we designed a sexuality education board game called "Ding&Dou Curious Battle" for children aged between 6 and 8. Following the International Technical Guidance on Sexuality Education by UNESCO, this game aims to help children establish a healthy and positive understanding of sex and gender.

Redesigning the Passenger Service Center

Beijing UCD collaborated with us to conduct a user experience research on Beijing subway. We decided to focus on the Service+ passenger service center, also the entrance of the subway station, to explore the potential to update the space and better understand passengers' needs during their rides. The research contained 3 stages and involved over 50 passengers. We discovered 3 key needs of Beijing subway passengers: reduce anxiety, increase convenience, and experience the "human" side of Beijing. Based on these findings, we then redesigned the space of Service+ and updated its services.
